XiteBio welcomes Don Sanders and Julia Cann as the newest members to their Innovation, Research and Development (IRD) team. Sanders joins the team as a research associate and Cann joins as a lab technician. Both of them work out of XiteBio’s IRD Centre in Winnipeg, Man.
Sanders recently completed his master’s degree from the University of Manitoba in the Department of Plant Science and has previously been employed by the University of Manitoba, Cargill Canada and Kackenhoff Nurseries. His research skills in addition to his agronomic knowledge make him an asset for Xitebio’s ongoing effort in new product development and product enhancement.
“Don’s background in agriculture research make him a valuable asset on key product development projects as we work to enhance our product portfolio,” says Manas Banerjee, XiteBio CEO.
Cann has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Winnipeg and has previously been employed by Haplotech Inc. and the University of Winnipeg. Her skills in plant-based research serve to strengthen upcoming research projects, as well as the day-to-day operations of the IRD lab.
“Cann’s enthusiasm and previous experience in crop research have successfully enhanced the capabilities of our newly expanded laboratory and growth room” adds Bob Reekie, XiteBio’s business and product manager.
Sanders and Cann share a passion for agriculture that brings new excitement and adds to the critical mass of XiteBio’s IRD team. They will be working closely with the rest of the XiteBio team members as they integrate themselves into their new roles.
